It’s important to inspect things to discover the cause of a problem. If you’re feeling unwell and you’re not sure why, a doctor might inspect with an ultrasound. A plumber might inspect your pipes to look for a possible blockage.
For a vehicle owner, the best type of inspection is probably a digital one. If you’ve been searching, “Auto repair digital inspection”, “DVI near me”, “digital vehicle inspections Stoney Creek”, or something similar, we at Eric’s Automotive can help. Here’s what you need to know about digital vehicle inspections.
Eric’s Automotive is proud to offer auto repair digital inspections to drivers in the Stoney Creek area of Ontario. But just what makes an auto inspection digital and why are they better than the old way of inspecting vehicles?
Vehicle inspections are as old as the automotive industry, so inspection itself is nothing new. However, for most of automotive history, paper inspections were the most popular method, which has often been less than ideal.
Mechanics are skilled in many ways. They’re knowledgeable about the inner workings of automobiles, they have good analytical thinking skills, and they’re good problem solvers. They are not, however, renowned for their penmanship.
Illegible handwriting has long plagued the auto repair industry. Bad penmanship makes records hard to read, as do food and drink stains, lost papers, torn papers, smudges, and more. The whole inspection process was in desperate need of standardization and streamlining.
That’s why we at Eric’s Automotive adopted a digital vehicle inspection software. We use a computer tablet to inspect vehicles and record results. With digital vehicle inspections, or DVIs, our mechanics can follow a thorough process for inspection and can communicate their findings to each other and to our customers clearly and effectively with the help of photos and videos.
At Eric’s Automotive, we carefully inspect every vehicle that arrives at our 568 Upper Wellington Street garage. We utilize only the latest and most innovative technology to perform inspections. Our technicians record notes and save pictures and videos to special vehicle inspection software. Then they can send those saved images to clients to brief them on the status and condition of their vehicle.
After we discuss the results of your DVI with you, we can recommend next steps to take. Our inspection findings will reveal what repair, if any, your vehicle requires. Our service advisors can also suggest any routine maintenance that might keep your vehicle in good working order.
And sometimes the biggest benefit of a DVI is simply peace of mind. If we don’t find anything wrong with your vehicle, or simply something we can quickly fix, you can relax knowing there’s no underlying issue with your automobile.
There’s no need to keep searching for a DVI near you if you’re in the Stoney Creek area of Ontario. Just come over to Eric’s Automotive and we can provide the services you need. In addition to DVIs, we offer a plethora of automotive services, from routine tire service to urgent battery replacement.

I’m a little late sending in my review, I stopped in a few months ago…The staff were welcoming, friendly, and very accommodating. They have even checked in to make sure everything was running smoothly since the service. They provided a detailed inspection report with pictures sent directly to me, which made everything clear and easy to understand. The shuttle and detail service was a great convenience, and they were able to take me in right away and get everything handled quickly. Excellent customer service and a team that truly cares making the process easy for their customers. Highly recommend!

What a great team. They leant me a loaner car for the day so that I didn't need to take the day off work. The inspection of my car was very detailed. Very fair prices too. They clean the inside of the car (the worse part to clean) instead of a half-ass outside wash that most shops do. Great idea team! I'II go back next time I need service, hopefully no time soon.

Both Eric and Korey were kind and knowledgeable regarding the repair and maintenance of my vehicle. Eric walked me through my vehicle report and gave me an idea of the maintenance my car will need in the future. I noticed my floor mats were clean too, thank you for that! First of all if I could leave more than 5 stars I definitely would! I’m so happy with the service at Eric’s. They went above and beyond to fit my car in to make sure I was safely on the road for my commute to work! Professional, friendly, accommodating! I really like the service report they send - it breaks down what is good with your vehicle, what needs to be done, and what is upcoming. It’s visual and easy to understand! Thanks so much Eric!!
