Oil Change in [City], ON

Oil Change

Regularly changing your vehicle’s oil is one of the most important things you can do to extend your automobile’s life. It is a practice that is neglected far too often by far too many drivers. You do not want to be one of them. The frequency with which you should change your engine’s oil will vary depending on how much you drive, in what kind of conditions you drive, and what kind of vehicle you own. Because of this, it’s best to bring your vehicle into our shop; where an experienced, accredited, and professional technician can change your oil and advise you on how often your oil should be changed. We will also look at your:

Oil Filter

Your oil filter is an essential part of your engine. A properly working oil filter will keep your oil clean for longer and elongate the life of your engine.

Air Filter

Your air filter supplies clean air to your automobile’s carburetion system. When it gets dirty or clogged it may cause your car to idle or run rough, as well as reducing gas mileage.

Inspection

Our technicians provide a top-notch, comprehensive, and quick inspection of your vehicle, its engine, and its oil. Regular inspection by well-trained technicians is a crucial component of vehicle maintenance.

Lube

With so many moving parts in your vehicle and its transmission, you need to make sure it is properly lubricated to run smoothly and efficiently. When we change your oil and tops up your fluids, we will also ensure everything is properly lubed.

Grease

As your vehicle ages, some greasing may be required, particularly of fittings and ball joints.

Transmission Filter

If your transmission filter becomes obstructed and clogged it can hamper fluid flow and cause transmission problems, engagement hesitation, and other shifting issues, so it is important to get your transmission filter changed every so often.

Antifreeze

In cold weather, you need antifreeze to keep your engine from seizing. As such, it is important to have the right levels of antifreeze in your vehicle.

Engine Coolant

Conversely, you don’t want your engine to overheat. As such, you’ll need to have the right levels of engine coolant at all times.

Windshield Washer Fluid

You need to ensure you have enough windshield washer fluid at all times to avoid streaks and to guarantee visibility through your windshield.

Cabin Filter

The cabin air filter is a pleated-paper filter locate in the outside-air intake. When clogged, the cabin filter can severely reduce the efficacy of your vehicle’s air conditioning and heating.

Lights

You need the lights in your car to always be working as a point of safety and to obey the law.

Synthetic vs. Conventional Oil

Synthetic oil is better than conventional oil when it comes to form and function, boasting greater longevity and the ability to handle high temperatures without breaking down.

Modern Synthetic Oils

Today’s synthetics are cleaner than conventional oil and have been manufactured to produce less resistance in the engine and offer more horsepower and overall efficiency for the engine. This enables the engine to perform at the same level as before while using slightly less gas.

While the cost of a synthetic oil change can be up to twice as much as a conventional oil change, the extra cost can be justified. Modern synthetic oils can take your vehicle as far as 10,000 km and help you use less oil.

Multi-point vehicle Inspection

We offer a thorough multi-point vehicle inspection to get your vehicle up and running at peak capacity.

Car AC Service and Repair in [City], ON

Car AC Service and Repair

There is no doubt that the air conditioning system in your vehicle makes summer driving tolerable. Instant cold air blowing in your face fends off the heat and humidity of southern Ontario. As a result, you stay calm, cool, and collected during your daily commute or long road trips.

Sometimes, your ac system becomes sluggish, blowing with less forceor at warmer than usual temperatures. If you are unsure how to handle your vehicle’s ac problem, please contact Eric’s Automotive. Our team of trained technicians is ready to perform any ac service to get you back on the road.

Your Car’s AC At a Glance

While most people reap the benefits of an AC system in their vehicle, many people do not know how they work. The technology working behind the scenes to keep you at a comfortable temperature is quite complex. Let’s take a look at the inner workings of your car air conditioner.

Your car’s air conditioning system is outfitted with many different components; a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator, to name a few. An essential ac gas known as refrigerant is also present. Together, these components move the refrigerant through a closed-loop system, shifting between liquid and gaseous states, resulting in cool air.

Step 1: Compressor

As a low-pressure, low-temperature gas enters the compressor, it works to compress the refrigerant into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas.

Step 2: Condenser

This highly pressurized, hot gas leaves the compressor and enters the condenser. This component is comprised of a series of coils that outside air passes over. This cools the refrigerant and turns it into a liquid.

Step 3: Receiver-Drier

The still highly pressurized, but now cold liquid enters the receiver-dryer where any water is absorbed from the refrigerant.

Step 4: Expansion Valve or Orifice Tube

The flow is restricted as the refrigerant passes through either the expansion valve or the orifice tube. This restriction converts the refrigerant from a high-pressure liquid to a low-pressure liquid mist before it enters the evaporator.

Step 5: Evaporator

As the low-pressure liquid mist flows through the evaporator, a blower motor pushes air across the cold tubes of the evaporator. This delivers cooled air into the passenger compartment of the automobile. Here the refrigerant reverts into a gaseous state and is fed into the compressor starting the process over again.

What is Wrong With My AC System?

As noted earlier, a vehicle’s ac system operates in a pressurized closed-loop system. It is imperative they remain completely sealed. If refrigerant escapes or debris contaminates your vehicle’s ac could be at risk for a failure.

There are a few common air conditioning problems that could be affecting your vehicle

  • There is a refrigerant leak – if your vehicle is blowing warmer air or you notice a wet patch under your car you could be experiencing a refrigerant leak. While you might be able to find this yourself, the team at Eric’s can find the leak and perform the necessary service to get your ac working again
  • A broken cooling fan – A broken cooling fan will continue to push air into the cabin but it will be hot and muggy. Look to your air conditioning repair team at Eric’s for help with this or any other electrical issues.
  • A bad condenser, compressor, or other major component –If you are hearing loud noises when the ac is running you could have issues with a major component. Our team can check for any issues and conduct the proper air condition service to get your back on the road.
  • A build up of debris – Our vehicles are subject to dirt, dust, and debris on a daily basis. These contaminants can get in between important components of your AC system or trapped in the cabin air filter restricting airflow.
